Terms of Service - ExportMyChat

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and ExportMyChat ("we", "us", or "our") regarding your use of the ExportMyChat browser extension ("Extension", "Service").

By installing, accessing, or using the Extension, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

ExportMyChat is a browser extension that provides the following services:

Export AI chat conversations from supported platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek)
Edit and customize chat content before export
Convert conversations to multiple formats (PDF, DOCX, HTML, Markdown, JSON, Plain Text)
Save and manage chat conversations locally
Create and apply styling presets
Optional cloud synchronization via Google Drive
Multi-language support (15 languages)

3. License and Usage Rights

3.1 Grant of License

ExportMyChat is provided as open-source software. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Extension for personal or commercial purposes.

3.2 Open Source License

The Extension is licensed under the terms specified in the project repository. You may view, modify, and distribute the source code in accordance with the applicable open-source license.

3.3 Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

Use the Extension for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

Use the Extension to violate any third-party rights
Distribute malware or harmful code through the Extension

4. Third-Party Platforms

4.1 Platform Integration

ExportMyChat integrates with third-party AI chat platforms:

ChatGPT (OpenAI)
Claude (Anthropic)
Gemini (Google)
DeepSeek

Important: Your use of these platforms is subject to their respective Terms of Service and Privacy Policies. ExportMyChat is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these platforms.

4.2 Platform Compliance

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of ExportMyChat complies with the terms of service of the AI platforms you use. Some platforms may have restrictions on:

Automated data extraction
Commercial use of exported content
Redistribution of AI-generated content

We recommend reviewing each platform's terms before exporting conversations.

5. User Responsibilities

5.1 Content Ownership

You retain all rights to your chat conversations and exported content. However, you are responsible for:

Ensuring you have the right to export and use the conversations
Complying with applicable copyright and intellectual property laws
Respecting the intellectual property rights of AI platforms
Not exporting or sharing conversations that contain confidential or sensitive information without authorization

5.2 Account Security

If you use Google Drive sync:

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account
You must not share your authentication credentials
You must promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorized access

5.3 Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use ExportMyChat to:

Export conversations containing illegal content
Violate any person's privacy or publicity rights
Harvest or collect personal information about others
Spread misinformation or harmful content
Circumvent any security features or access controls

6. Google Drive Integration

6.1 Optional Feature

Google Drive synchronization is an optional feature. By enabling this feature, you:

Grant ExportMyChat permission to create and manage files in your Google Drive
Acknowledge that files are stored in your personal Google Drive account
Agree to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Understand that you can revoke access at any time

6.2 Data Management

You are responsible for:

Managing your Google Drive storage quota
Backing up important data
Deleting synced files if you no longer need them

7. Disclaimers and Limitations

7.1 "AS IS" Service

IMPORTANT: THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

7.2 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee that:

The Extension will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
The results obtained from using the Extension will be accurate or reliable
Any errors in the Extension will be corrected
The Extension will be compatible with all browsers or systems
The Extension will continue to work with third-party platforms if they change their systems

7.3 Platform Changes

AI chat platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek) may change their interfaces, APIs, or terms at any time. Such changes may affect ExportMyChat's functionality. We are not responsible for disruptions caused by third-party platform changes.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EXPORTMYCHAT AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

Your use or inability to use the Extension
Any unauthorized access to or use of your data
Any interruption or cessation of the Extension
Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code that may be transmitted through the Extension
Any errors or omissions in any content or data
Any actions taken by third-party platforms

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ExportMyChat, its developers, and contributors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with:

Your use of the Extension
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights
Your violation of any laws or regulations

10. Updates and Modifications

10.1 Extension Updates

We may update the Extension from time to time to:

Add new features
Fix bugs and improve performance
Maintain compatibility with third-party platforms
Enhance security

Updates may be automatic or require manual installation. Continued use of the Extension after updates constitutes acceptance of any changes.

10.2 Terms Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Termination

11.1 By You

You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser. Upon uninstallation:

Local data stored in your browser will be deleted
Google Drive synced data will remain in your Drive (you must delete it manually if desired)

11.2 By Us

We reserve the right to discontinue or terminate the Extension at any time without notice. We are not liable for any losses resulting from termination.

The Extension, including its original code, features, and functionality, is owned by the developers and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

"ExportMyChat" and associated logos are trademarks. You may not use these trademarks without prior written permission.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

If unresolved, disputes may be subject to binding arbitration or litigation

15. Severability

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ExportMyChat regarding the Extension and supersede all prior agreements.
